Wyoming Mineral Specimens

OKN-804

OKN-804      Quartz on Chaladony (variety Youngite)    Guernsey, Hartville District, Wyoming.  Ex. Harold Dibble collection.  From the early 1980s, this piece would have been a fantastic example for the find.  Light purple in color, having a high luster, very three-dimensional, and damage free are all pluses for the piece.  The specimen sits nicely on edge and views from any direction nicely.  The piece has a couple very minor edge contacts as its only connection to surrounding rock.  8 x 7 x 4.5 cm overall.  Far better in hand, especially what I would call the front view (seen in the first and last image).  Very strong yellow green SW UV fluorescence.    $200

OKL-015

OKL-015    Dolomite pseudo. after Aragonite    Lovell, Big Horn County, Wyoming.  Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning collection.  This specimen  measures 2.6 x 2.6 x .3 cm.  It is a flat white color and similar in appearance on its backside although has more staining.  It appears to be a floater but it is mounted in a perky box and I do not intend to remove it for further inspection.  From my understanding these are quite rare and this is the only one I've seen for sale.  Mounted in a perky box.  $195
