Calcite Mineral Specimens from Oxbow, New York
The calcite mineral specimens that were once produced at the Oxbow roadcut in
New York state are sometimes both aesthetic and interesting. An unusual
twin habit, referred to in the literature as "nest twins" or butterfly
twins, are rather common at
Oxbow. The specimens included here are outstanding examples of this
material.
