OKH-611 Fluorite and Calcite Huanzala, Peru. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. A wonderful specimen from days gone by. This floater measures 6.5 x 3.9 x 3.6 cm. The bulk of it is dark colored, metallic luster, sphalerites. Some of these crystals are twins. On the back matrix is covered by pyrite. The showstopper is a beautiful pink, slightly purple, fluorite that measures 1.2 cm. There are other fluorites on the backside but they are not very noticeable. The nice one is totally gem and complex in form with cube and octahedron. There are a few tiny bits of sphalerite on it’s surface. There is zero damage to this fine display piece. A very desirable example of the late 20th century material. $320

OKH-640 Fluorite with Pyrite Huanzala, Huanuco Dept., Peru. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This is a complete floater octahedral form and numerous attached pyrites. Crystal shows a complex morphology, light green color, and translucence to gemmyness throughout. The form is what many refer to as the classic "Aztec Pyramid". It measures 3.5 cm on edge with the longest dimensions equaling 4.5 x 4.5 x 4 cm. This is a magnificent specimen for the location. The photographs do not do it justice. And aesthetic and desirable miniature. $450

OKH-650 Pyrite Huaron, Peru. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This is a very nice large plate of crystals measuring 10 x 8.2 x 5.1 cm. Individual crystals exceed 3 cm each and are a combination of cube and octahedral forms. Both forms are about equal in development which is rather unusual. The tag mentions stannite but I believe the secondary growths are also pyrite. In either case is specimen is very clean and attractive. A showy and unusual specimen from this prolific locality. $175

OKI-641 Bornonite Quiruvilea Mine, Peru. An exceptional crystal of this uncommon material. The specimen is dominated by one large crystal standing up on several smaller ones. It appears to be a floater but is mounted in a perky box so it is impossible to tell without removal. The luster is as good as it gets for this species and the crystal is hoppered. The piece measures approx. 1.8 x 1.5 x .7 cm. Zero damage and a superior TN specimen for this locality. 180$

OKF-572 Hubnerite, Chalcopyrite, Quartz, Calcite and Tetrahedrite Casapalca, Peru. A fine, high luster display piece with a diversity of species. The calcites are the largest at over 4 cm and they sit way up on the matrix of sulfides. No damage and everything is obvious and clean. The piece sits well for viewing and limits its matrix contacts to the base and back. Not uncommon material but difficult to find in smaller specimens that are free of damage and have this diversity of mineral species. A very reasonable price….85$

OKI-178 Fluorite, Quartz and Hubnerite Peru. Several lustrus milky quartz crystals flank this partial octahedron of light green fluorite. The entire specimen measures 5.8 x 5.5 x 4.5 cm. The quartz have several small deep red hubnerite crystals embedded in their sides and bases. The fluorite is of the “Aztec pyramid style with cubes modifying the surfaces of the octahedrons leading to a stepped appearance. The octahedrons corners are modified as well (hexoctahedral?). There is no damage. One quartz looks dinged but it is a multiple termination and everything is clean. Sets several ways for display and is better that the photos make it out to be. A fantastic price on this one…..95$

OKF-472 Gratonite Excelsior Mine, Cerro de Pasco, Peru. Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection, prev. Ward’s Minerals, from the Oren Root collection. The specimen is a 2 cm ball of crystals with on tiny area of matrix contact and a tiny area of missing crystallization (damage?). It displays well from most all angles. A rare piece unavailable in today’s market. 300$

OKF-040 Fluorite and Pyrite Huanzala, Peru. This specimen is one of the nicest fluorites I’ve seen from Peru. It is a big floater piece comprised of a single fluorite octahedron with highly modified, etched and hoppered surfaces. It measures 5 cm on edge and is a light sea foam green color. The fluorite id fluorescent and exceptional for the locality. One small patch of purple. The Pyrites are in clusters in pits in the fluorite and are modified by dodecahedral forms. 6.6 x 6.2 x 6 cm. An outstanding and unusual fluorite specimen. 450$

OKD-509 Pyrite Huanzala, Peru. Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain Collection. Several big, high luster octahedrons of pyrite which are intergrown and sit up high on the all pyrite matrix. What makes this piece special is quite obvious…the modifications to these octahedrons are very unusual. I thought I was fairly decent at knowing my crystallography but this one has me baffled. No damage to the main crystals but there is peripheral contact from other crystals. 6.5 x 6 x 3 cm with crystals to a cm. Interesting surface features on a few faces. Very unusual and interesting. 265$

OKD-505 Rhodochrosite on Sphalerite Mamuelita Mine, Morochcha District, Yauli Prov., Junin Dept., Peru. Ex Nancy Collins Collection. This specimen is a large (13 x 7 cm ) plate of small rhodo crystals which create a druze on massive sphalerite. No damage but there is some broken material along lower edge as a result of the material’s extraction. This is clearly visible in the photo and could easily be trimmed off. A good piece at an easy to handle price. 90$

OKD-053 Tetrahedrite, Sphalerite, Galena, Quartz Casapalca, Peru. Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain Collection. Here is a large plate of outstanding crystals of exceptional size for the location. The piece measures 12 x 11 cm and is up to 5 cm thick. The sides are mineralized on much of the piece and there is no damage. The sphalerites are largest reaching over 4 cm each. They are nicely translucent, yellowish and complex in form. The tetrahedrites are exceptional in luster and reach 2 cm each. Their form is clean and attractive. The galena are also very complex and not as lustrous as the other minerals. All crystals are evenly dispersed on the matrix. A real winner. 580$

OKB-242 Arsenopyrite/ Quartz/ Tetrahedrite/ Hubnerite? Casapalca, Lima Dept., Peru. Impressive mix of minerals on this big piece. Some obvious damage exist but the price is adjusted for this. Most crystals are 1 to 3 cm each. The elongated black crystal may or may not be hubnerite. They were labeled as such but I would expect some translucence and red. Neither can be seen in these crystals. 13 x 11 cm plate. 45$
