Closed during the mid 1800s, all east coast specialists are well aware of the importance of this historic location.  Good contemporary specimens are unknown so when you come across a nice Rossie specimen you have something special.  Know best for its complex calcite twins and galenas the mines also boast a number of other species that were preserved during the lead mining operations.

OKA-964     Calcite/ Pyrite      Rossie, NY. Parallel growth cluster of schalenohedrons up to 7.5 cm each. This group measures 10 x 7 x 7 cm and is composed of translucent , milky crystals with good luster and some shiny pyrite coatings. Obvious damage.   80$
