Uvites and Magnesite Mineral Specimens

These tourmalines and magnesites from South America are special.  All the pieces to follow are from the famous collector and dealer Carlos Barbosa.  The specific local is Brumado, Bahia.  The uvites are red, green and sometimes a light gray in color.  They are gemmy and attractively perched on rhombohedral magnesites.  These magnesites are clear to milky white and sometimes have brown phantoms.  They will have a very basic description by the photo and a 1 cm tag will be by the specimen for scale.  There is rarely any damage to these specimens and both sides of the piece are often mineralized. The form, luster and aesthetics on all the specimens are superb.  They are priced at what is approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of what a conservative retail price should be.  I hope you enjoy there beauties.
