OKF-657 Gypsum Mapimi, Durango, Mexico. Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection, prev. Ralph Lapham collection. This is an old specimen which is very interesting due to what is inside. Running most if the crystals length is an inclusion (negative crystal) which is approx 2 millimeters wide and 5.5 cm long. The entire crystal measures 10 x 2 x .7 cm. It is double terminated and striated along its narrowest faces. Even the inclusion has striations!!! Little marks here and there on the surface of the crystal (I’m not convinced that these are damage even with magnification). A fine piece for…80$

OKF-658 Spodumine Darrah Pech, Kunar Prov., Afghanistan. This is what remains after extensive etching within a gem pegmatite pocket. This crystal measures 3.8 x 3.4 x 2 cm and appears to be entirely gem material. The yellow color is sharp and the crystal form all but gone. Some of the striations remain on what was likely once its prism. An interesting display specimen which stands on edge and views well from all sides (a damage free floater). A steal at 40$

OKF-694 Albite and Quartz Road cut in Rt. # 55, Windsor, Quebec, Canada. Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection. This matrix specimen of alpine quartz is nothing short of being a spectacular small cabinet specimen. Far better in person. 6.2 x 6 x 5.2 cm overall with clean, clear, undamaged crystals to 2.7 cm each. There are a few nice albites to 1.5 cm each which are white to clear and placed high on the piece. Very aesthetic and displayable. Great specimen for the price. 90$

OKF-695 Pyrite Canada Talc Mine, Madoc, Ontario, Canada. Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection. This is an excellent specimen for the location and very interesting in several ways. The piece measures 10 x 6.5 x 5.5 cm and sports large pyrites to 3.6 cm on edge. The largest crystal is incomplete (contact with matrix or damage?) on its backside but this does not show in normal viewing. The crystals have nice luster and very unusual growth features to their crystal surfaces. The matrix is a dark brown schist which provides a nice contrast and the specimen has a flat base so it stands and displays well. An excellent piece from an uncommon pyrite locality. 85$

OKF-696 Apophyllite and Stilbite on Chalcedony (Stalactite) Jalgaon, India. This is a very old and fine specimen from this prolific producer of zeolites. The stalactite measures 7.3 cm long and the fine double terminated apophyllite crystal which dominates it is over 5 cm tip to tip. The piece is completely free of damage, high on luster and perfectly formed. Stalactites of this quality are normally far more expensive even when from a common mineral. The pink stilbite bisects the primary crystals edge and there are lots of tiny riders to add flash. There is a tiny dab of Fun-tac, blue at its base which I have not tried to remove, assuming it will soon be mounted vertically again by its new owner. Top shelf display piece. 60$

It measures 4.2 x 2.7 x 2 cm overall and has albites to 2.6 cm, many of which are double terminated. Minor green chamosite. An exceptional albite for the locality with large damage free crystals that are highly aesthetic. 130$

OKF-700 Millerite, Honnesite and Quartz Road cut in Rt. #27, Hall’s Gap, Lincoln Co., Kentucky. Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection. This geode measures 5.5 cm across and has an opening of 3.3 cm. This is filled with wonderful sprays of golden, high luster millerites on quartz and honnesite. It is not common for these specimens to exhibit radiating bundles like these…especially multiple clusters to .8 cm each. This is a very aesthetic, displayable millerite which will sit nicely for display but is currently mounted in a miniature perky box. These guys are getting very tough to find in good specimens with the closure of the locality. This one is well worth the price. 320$

This is one of those old classic from a noteworthy east coast occurrence. This hefty piece of sphalerite matrix measures approx 8 cm wide and contains well formed magnetite crystals (small) and a network of large hoppered chalcopyrites. Their luster varies from very bright to dull and some areas have a good deal of irridecece. There are high luster pyrites in a few places. There is also some calcite which was not etched away when this piece was prepared for sale 70 plus years ago. It is thick and stable with well protected damage free crystal. It does not display especially well from the sides. A substantial piece from a classic locale. 195$

OKI-114 Stilbite and Heulandite Undisclosed “Well Excavation” in India, 2003. I was lucky enough to get these fine specimens from a new dealer at Tucson as he unpacked his wares to sell. I high graded out the very best specimens he had for sale in manageable sizes. Some of the plates were 2 to 3 feet across. No damage to any of these fine, displayable specimens. Their color is richer than most stilbite specimens found coming from India these days and more reminiscent of stellerite. The stilbites are translucent and the heulandites when present are nearly clear. All of these specimens are priced well below what they normally would be due to the fair price I purchased them at. A great small specimen with a large, well exposed heulandite measuring 3.5 cm and attractive stilbites to 3.8 cm. Overall size is 10.5 x 7 x 5 cm and the specimen stands on edge for better display. A fine specimen for only 40$!!!
