Quartz and Calcite Mineral Specimens from Ravena, New York
These interesting mineral specimens were collected from the LaFarge Quarry (formerly
the Blue Circle Mine) by a fellow collector in the summer of 2003. There
is a very finite amount of this material available. The material offered here is
some that the New York State Museum did not manage to scoop up. The quartz
is water clear and the calcites take several forms.
