OKM-838

OKM-838     Gyrolite with Apophyllite     Bombay, (now Mumbai of course), India.  Ex. Harold L. Dibble collection.  I look at thousands of Indian specimens every year and this ranks as the most important gyrolite of this size I have seen for sale.  They are normally seen on matrix in small clusters with the other zeoite species so common from India.  At 7 x 6.5 x 4.1 cm this cluster is large and well formed.  Attractive from any direction...huge.  Matt luster over most of the piece, a floater with not points of attachment anywhere (very unusual).  Zero damage.  Minor apophyllite.  An impressive example!  $395

OKD-426

OKD-426    Calcite and Chalcedony      Nasik, India.  I came upon this unusual piece approximately ten years ago and stocked it away for a rainy day.  I have yet to see another like this.  I've observed my share of calcite scepters, but none of this quality on chalcedony stalactites.  Put these interesting forms together in a matrix vug and it becomes a wonderfully unusual specimen for the collector who thinks they have seen everything unique from India.  This fine specimen measures 14 x 12 x 6 cm overall and is totally damage free.  The scepters are clear to white with selective face coatings of a sugary quartz or secondary calcite overgrowth, their stems are darker than the caps.  Comes with a custom engraved acrylic base.   I am able to offer this fine piece for only....$950

OKI-214...looking at vertical twin plane

Smaller twins at bottom left.

Good view of twin plane

OKI-214     Gyrolite on and in Calcite Twins     Poona, India.  An impressive specimen when one takes a moment to consider all that is here.  The primary crystal is attached to several smaller twins and has a minor region of contact on backside from where it looks to have been attached against some gyrolite or okenite.  The specimen displays like a floater and is certainly an impressive twin.  It measures 7.4 x 5.2 x 4 cm and is clear with minor inclusions including well formed balls of gyrolite.  Some gyrolites also appear on the surface of the crystals.  Only one minor rub which will need to be searched out with magnification in order to find it.  Displays great from all sides.  One of the nicest calcite twins I’ve ever had in stock.  Outstanding Indian calcite!  245$

OKI-114

OKI-114     Stilbite and Heulandite    Undisclosed “Well Excavation” in India, 2003.  I was lucky enough to get these fine specimens from a new dealer at Tucson as he unpacked his wares to sell.  I high graded out the very best specimens he had for sale in manageable sizes.  Some of the plates were 2 to 3 feet across.  No damage to any of these fine, displayable specimens.  Their color is richer than most stilbite specimens found coming from India these days and more reminiscent of stellerite.  The stilbites are translucent and the heulandites when present are nearly clear.  All of these specimens are priced well below what they normally would be due to the fair price I purchased them at.  A great small specimen with a large, well exposed heulandite measuring 3.5 cm and attractive stilbites to 3.8 cm.  Overall size is 10.5 x 7 x 5 cm and the specimen stands on edge for better display.  A fine specimen for only 40$!!!

OKF-703

OKF-703     Apophyllite and Stilbite on Chalcedony coated Calcite   Jalgaon, India.  My is this a stunning combination.  All flash to this 8 x 6 x 4.6 cm grouping.  Minor cleaves of a few apophyllites as seems to often be the case but really a fine displayable specimen.  Apophyllites almost reach 5 cm each.  Nice piece.  30$

OKF-704

OKF-704     Gyrolite and Okenite on paramorphs of White Prehinte after Laumontite    Padanvadi Quarry, Bombay, India.  This is a very rare combination to have with the white prehnite (vs. green).  The specimen is a branching network of molds which are coated by balls of gyrolite to .8 cm each.  The piece measures 6 x 5 x 3.5 cm and has only a tiny contact on its bottom.  The sprays of okenite are small and mostly on the bottom.  This specimen gives outstanding views from every side.  Zero damage and high aesthetics. OKF-696

OKF-696    Apophyllite and Stilbite on Chalcedony (Stalactite)   Jalgaon, India.  This is a very old and fine specimen from this prolific producer of zeolites.  The stalactite measures 7.3 cm long and the fine double terminated apophyllite crystal which dominates it is over 5 cm tip to tip.  The piece is completely free of damage, high on luster and perfectly formed.  Stalactites of this quality are normally far more expensive even when from a common mineral.  The pink stilbite bisects the primary crystals edge and there are lots of tiny riders to add flash.  There is a tiny dab of Fun-tac, blue at its base which I have not tried to remove, assuming it will soon be mounted vertically again by its new owner.  Top shelf display piece.  60$

OKF-309

OKF-309    Heulandite included by Celadonite     India.  A very large double terminated heulandite which measures 5 cm on edge.  It is centrally placed on a perfectly trimmed basalt rock matrix.  There is a large cluster of secondary crystals central on the primary face and the opposing face on the backside crystal.  Very nice luster form and complexity.  The piece displays beautifully and it is certainly very aesthetic for the species.  This is an absolute steal at...$95

OKF-288

OKF-288     Fluorapophyllite on paramorphs of Prehnite after Laumontite  (quartz stalactite)  Padanvadi, Quarry, Bombay, India.  This is certainly a wild specimen.  It is actually a quartz stalactite we've the paramorphs encrusting surface.  It measures 8.3 cm long with crystals to 3.3 cm in length there is one small crystal that is missing near its connection point but this is difficult to notice.  Some areas have a minor overgrowth of a quite mineral which is unknown.  Very interesting and displayable.  $45

OKF-283

OKF-283    Star Ruby    Mysore, India.  Ex Charles Daniels collection.  This is an exceptional section of a Star Ruby corundum crystal which weighs 77.5 grams.  Both ends have been partially polished to show the internal inclusions typical of material which will produce star patterns when polished.  A fine piece for the collector but really a specimen more important to someone into lapidary.  I've seen cabs polished from this material selling in the mid five figure range.  This is a steal!  $180

OKF-356

OKF-356    Apophyllite    Poona, India.  Ex. Anthony P. Dunn Collection.  Prev. Ward’s.  Circ. 1975.  13 .5 x 8 x 5 cm overall.  And very displayable piece of three bright green apophyllite clusters on white stilbite.  All three clusters show some crystals with cleaves.  I have photographed all of these for inspection.  The rich green color is what is expected of the very best apophyllites ever to come out of India.  Still a very attractive displayable specimen.  $100
