OKM-774    Sphalerite on Quartz     Rucheng MIne, Caojia, Nuanshui, Rucheng County, Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Prov., China.  I try to buy this material whenever it becomes available, which has been seldom in the past few years.  They have to rank among the nicest sphalerites to date from China and frankly from almost anywhere.  The crystals are gemmy to translucent, of the highest luster found in the species, large and complex in their form.  Being on quartz gives them excellent contrast making for fine specimens.  This example measures 7.9 x 5 x 2.9 cm overall with crystals to 1.4 cm in diameter.  It is a floater less the contact in a small area of one edge.  At that small contact area on the backside of specimen a small sphalerite is missing.  These notes do not mean this is a poor specimen by any means.  It it displays great from front, top sides and is of excellent quality.  $150

OKM-775

OKM-775    Sphalerite and Galena on Quartz     Rucheng MIne, Caojia, Nuanshui, Rucheng County, Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Prov., China. This example measures 6.5 x 5.5 x 3.2 cm and has one larger crystal that is 1.5 cm in diameter.  The matrix looks duller because there are galena crystals on the matrix surface coated by quartz.  Excellent condition with only minor edge contact.  $95
