OKH-593 Barite and Calcite Elk Creek, South Dakota. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This small cabinet sized example measures 5.9 x 5.2 x 3.4 cm. The barite is 4.6 cm long, single terminated, very gemmy in almost all areas, has a wonderful luster, and is damage free. There is breakage where it was attached to the interior of the vug, as would have to be expected, and one thin internal crack. It sits on the typical yellow calcite providing a nice contrast. The specimen stands on edge for display and looks really nice when it does so. Classic American specimen. $475

OKH-597 Wulfenite and Calcite Amhado, Arizona. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This is simply a huge single wulfenite crystal with a smaller attached crystals on the back. It measures 3.7 x 2.7 cm and is in a perky box. The surface features are curious some being embedded wulfenites and others growth distortions. There are small tabular calcites in areas on the top and back. Nice luster, displays well. No damage. $85

OKH-599 Wulfenite on Mimetite San Francisco Mine, Sonora, Mexico. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. A good example of this classic material measuring 6.8 x 3.5 x 2 cm which tabular wulfenites 2.7 cm on edge that rest on a druse of orange mimetite. With magnification I see one crystal missing and two that are chipped. Approximately 60% of the back side of the specimen is also crystallized. $50

OKH-600 Fluorite Taewha, South Korea. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This forms a cluster that measures 3.8 x 3.6 x 2.3 cm. The cubes are large, up to 2 cm on edge, but show dings on several corners. The luster is flat, etched looking, so this specimen serves best as a reference piece. It is certainly a very unusual location to find fluorite. $25

OKH-601 Fluorite and Calcite Guyang, Hunan Prov., China. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This specimen is of large single octahedron measuring to 5 cm on edge. The entire piece is a floater measuring 6 x 5.2 x 4.4 cm overall. The octahedron is highly modified by cubic overgrowth. The luster is very high in the crystal appears gemmy throughout, no inclusions or fractures of any type. The color is brighter than the photos indicate, it is a similar green to the very highest quality Wise Mine specimens. The original price 15 years ago was $85, I am only asking $75.

OKH-602 Calcite Jose Maria Patoni, Durango, Mexico. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. I am unsure of the specific location for this interesting crystal. It is a single terminated specimen measuring 3.3 x 1.2 x 1 cm. It is clear and has a very light white phantom. Having a pinacoid termination its crystal form is interesting. $30

OKH-603 Calcite Cave-In-Rock, Illinois. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. Circ. 1979. This attractive display piece is a cabinet sized specimen measuring 11 x 9.6 x 5 cm. Central to the display is a 6.6 cm calcite. This specimen is very clean damage wise. It is crystallized on the back but that area does show damage. A frontal view makes this a spotless display specimen. The luster is moderate and the crystals show good form and interesting surface features. This is one of the nicer Cave-In-Rock calcites I have seen. $185

OKH-604 Fluorite and Calcite Roseclaire, Illinois. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. Circ. 1979. This specimen is composed of cubes to 3.5 cm on edge. The specimen measures 7.2 x 5.4 x 5.9 cm. The color and luster are very desirable and most surfaces where they were broken in-situ are healed. The phantoms are very nice, purple over yellow and the luster is high. There are several small areas where damage has occurred so this specimen will not break the bank. Still a very respectable display specimen. $65

OKH-608 Cerussite Flux Mine, Grant County, New Mexico. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This specimen is probably the nicest I have owned from the locality. It appears to be a floater crude/ fibrous terminations on all crystal ends. Measures 5.3 x 3.3 x 2.4 cm. The luster is good and the form is interesting. It is bright white and very displayable. A very fine Arizona specimen. $245

OKH-611 Fluorite and Calcite Huanzala, Peru. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. A wonderful specimen from days gone by. This floater measures 6.5 x 3.9 x 3.6 cm. The bulk of it is dark colored, metallic luster, sphalerites. Some of these crystals are twins. On the back matrix is covered by pyrite. The showstopper is a beautiful pink, slightly purple, fluorite that measures 1.2 cm. There are other fluorites on the backside but they are not very noticeable. The nice one is totally gem and complex in form with cube and octahedron. There are a few tiny bits of sphalerite on it’s surface. There is zero damage to this fine display piece. A very desirable example of the late 20th century material. $320

OKH-613 Smithsonite Pinal County, Arizona. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This fine specimen measures 5.4 x 4 x 2 cm. One side has a partial vug with bright green translucence smithsonites (bright peridote green color) measuring to .5 cm each. What appears to also be cerussite and auricalcite sprays, as well. Backside of specimen is even more interesting have been calcite, smithsonite, and auricalcite coatings. I only call this side the back because there is some damage to the calcites. The front side is damage free. All the crystals have nice luster and good form. And interesting and desirable American specimen. $180

OKH-614 Pyrite Hotspur Island, Alaska. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. If you are a pyrite collector this would certainly rank has an unusual find. It is a perfectly formed pyrite cube measuring .8 cm well displayed in matrix. It is damage free and well exposed. It has a satin luster and there is a second cube embedded in the base of this specimen (although it is damaged). An attractive display piece measuring 3.9 x 3.9 x 2.9 cm. $60

OKH-615 Calcite on Fluorite Cave-In-Rock, Illinois. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This specimen is composed of bright yellow fluorite, healed on all sides except base, coated by single and double terminated calcites. 7 x 6.1 x 4.5 cm overall. After close inspection I find a few, but very few, cleaved calcites. This specimen is an outstanding condition overall. It is rare to see these types of calcites from this location in this high of a quality. Usually the damage is far more extensive. I know I’m dwelling on the specimen’s condition but it is of course one of the most important aspects of any collectible mineral. Rest assured that this is likely one of the finer calcites on fluorites that one could find in this day and age from Illinois. $250
