OKH-633 Pyrite
RESERVED Pedro Claim, King County, Washington. Ex. Paul and Dawne
Dunning Collection. This beautiful cube measures 3.2 x 2.8 x 2.6 cm calm it has
a mirror like luster and has a slight modification by octahedron. The growth
hillocks are extremely well to find. Very strong basil contact and some broken
quartz attached to base as well this is held primarily to the base and back so
is not clearly visible. The display faces are damage free and piece displays
nicely. A really attractive and aesthetic pyrite cube. $125
OKH-634 Fluorite
RESERVED Double Stake Claim, Grant County New Mexico. Ex. Paul
and Dawne Dunning Collection. This interesting plate of crystals measures 7.2 x
5.1 cm and is approximately 2.3 cm thick. The cubes are up to 1.2 cm on edge
and show attractive purple edge phantoms on their surfaces/just below their
surfaces. $125
OKH-640 Fluorite with Pyrite Huanzala, Huanuco Dept., Peru. Ex. Paul
and Dawne Dunning Collection. This is a complete floater octahedral form and
numerous attached pyrites. Crystal shows a complex morphology, light green
color, and translucence to gemmyness throughout. The form is what many
refer to as the classic "Aztec Pyramid". It measures 3.5 cm on edge
with the longest dimensions equaling 4.5 x 4.5 x 4 cm. This is a magnificent
specimen for the location. The photographs do not do it justice. And aesthetic
and desirable miniature. $450
OKH-636 Fluorite, Calcite and Quartz
RESERVED Naica, Mexico. Ex. Paul and Dawne
Dunning Collection. This a fine example of wonderful Mexican material that was
available two to three decades ago and that we have not seen the likes of
sense. These are beautifully formed octahedrons large bulbous protrusions on
the point of each termination. The form is what many refer to as the
classic "Aztec Pyramid". The crystals are gemmy clear and on flat
surfaces you can view all the way to the matrix. It is damage free and
extremely aesthetic. The piece measures 6.9 x 5.3 x 4 cm with crystals to over
3 cm each. A simply fantastic fluorite. $650
OKH-637 Pyrite
RESERVED Gusen, near Linz, Austria. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. How often do you see such a nice pyrite specimen from such an
unusual location? And even better, at an affordable price. This specimen is a
combination of concretions and cubic crystals to 1.9 cm on edge. They come
together in and aesthetic display measuring 4.9 x 4.7 x 2.5 cm overall. The
luster is fantastic, the location rare, and there is zero damage to this
floater. This would be a must-have for any serious pyrite collector.
I anticipate this selling very quickly. $180
OKH-638 Pyrite
RESERVED Vintirov, Sokolov, Karlovy Vary Region, Bohemia, Czech
Republic. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. Obviously an older piece
measures 4.5 x 3.3 x 3.2 cm. The cubes have curved faces and measure up to 1.3
cm each. A warm like concretion extends through the center of the pyrite ball
and out each end. A fantastically interesting specimen high in luster,
attractive in form, and a damage free floater. $195
OKH-639 Pyrite pseudo. after Marcasite Nanisivik Mine, Baffin Island, N.W.
Territoriy, Canada. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. A nicely formed
example with crystals to 2.3 cm each. Entire specimen measures 3.2 x 1.4 x 2.1
cm . Small edge contact, mild staining. $15
OKH-640 Fluorite, Pyrite, Galena, Calcite.
RESERVED Naica, Mexico. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. This is the finest miniature size fluorite I have ever had from
Mexico. That is a very strong statement given a lousy pictures that this
specimen (and its current owner) takes! The crystal is a highly complex
octahedron with hoppered faces, it’s totally gem, he accessory minerals are
nicely placed and aesthetic, the luster is extremely high, and it is a damage
free floater! The form is what many refer to as the classic "Aztec
Pyramid". If your thing world-class miniatures this might be for you.
There is a tiny bit of blue adhesive putty on the base that I was unable to
remove. In hand this specimen is impressive. An absolutely fantastic specimen
in every regard. $975
OKH-641 Pyrite Calais, France. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection.
And interesting pyrite from another unusual location. This one measures 4.5 x
3.6 x 3.1 cm. It is not quite a floater because there is any shard of pyritized
rock on one edge. No damage and could luster. $95
OKH-642 Pyrite Washington Camp, Patagonit, Santa Cruz County, Arizona.
Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This striated cube measures 3.1 x 3.1 x
3 .2 cm. There is a single contact in one corner that is healed. Two corners
show some chipping, otherwise in good condition. $90
OKH-643 Pyrite Gavorrano Mine, Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy. Ex. Paul and
Dawne Dunning Collection. Given the unusual location, high quality, and
interesting form, this pyrite is worth a second look. The luster is extremely
high and the piece is a floater. Each faces sunken centrally and within it you
will find small masses of quartz/calcite? 2.7 x 2 x 1.8 cm overall. Very
unusual. Slaked chipping on terminations and edges, still a very noteworthy
piece. $120
OKH-644 Pyrite Alice Glory Hole, Fall River, Clear Creek County,
Colorado. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. Another unusual pyrite, this
one is a partial octahedron extensive octahedral overgrowths. There is minor
dolomite/siderite? In a couple spots on the crystals surface. He measures 2.4
cm on edge and is 2.7 x 2.3 x 2.5 cm overall. Nice luster and in interesting
piece. $65
OKH-669 Fluorite on Barite Dansville, Kentucky. Ex. Paul and Dawne
Dunning Collection. This is a very respectable example of this material 6 x 4.6
x 2.4 cm. I have inspected this piece very closely and find it to be totally
damage free. The luster is good for both species and a fluorites are up to .6
cm each and distributed nicely over the white bladed barites. It is glued into
the base of a large perky box. A very nice quality piece. $100
OKH-570 Cinochlore with Vesuvianite and Garnet
Ptitscf, Tyrol, Italy.
Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This is a very old specimen previously
in the Richard Norman Kelley collection It comes with an old Lazard Cahn
label. This specimen is not big measuring 3.2 x 2 x 1.2 cm overall. The
chlinochlore is nicely formed in measures .7 x .8 x .5 cm. It has good luster
and form. The other species are minor. No damage. $190
OKH-571 Malachite pseudo. after Aurichalcite Pioche, Nevada. Ex. Paul
and Dawne Dunning Collection. This is an interesting piece measuring 7.2 x 4 x
2.8 cm overall. The upper surface contains all the mineralization which is
deposited on dark brown/black matrix. It is glued into the base of a large
perky box. There is no damage and there is also minor crystallization that
appears to be calcite and an unknown black mineral. Unusual and colorful. $150
OKH-572 Stibnite Herja, Romania. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. I do not consider these specimens to be unusual but this one is.
It is composed of a 2 .4 centimeter spray of bright silver colored stibnite that
is tipped on edge and embedded in an unusual matrix of rich brown color. This
matrix appears to be made of quartz pseudomorphs, possibly after barite. No
damage. It is interesting and attractive due to the color and luster
contracts. The entire piece measures 6.3 x 5.7 x 2.8 cm. Very nice on several
levels. $125
OKH-573 Cuprite
RESERVED Bisbee, Arizona. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection.
Undersurface of this specimen can be seen hundredths of bright red tiny a
acicular needles of cuprite. The entire specimen measures 6.5 x 3.7 x 3.5 cm
overall. It is glued into the base of a large perky box. It is in good
condition and the color really jumps out at you. $85
OKH-574 Hemimorphite Durango, Mexico. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. And attractive plate of medium blue botryoidal hemimorphite. There
are two generations of this mineral with the second generation being larger.
The piece measures 6.1 x 5.6 x 2 .2 cm. It is glued into the bottom of a large
perky box. Damage free and attractive. $45
OKH-575 Fluorite Silverton Colorado. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. A good grouping of gemmy crystals with frosted ex interiors. There
form shows extensive stepped growth and they are up to 2.3 cm each. The plate
of crystals majors for by 3.8 cm, is approximately 1.5 cm thick, it is glued
into the base of a perky box. There is minor quartz and pyrite on the back edge
of the specimen. Views well from all side. A good piece from a famous
locality. No damage. $60
OKH-576 Alabandite....Rhodochrosite Nagyan, Hungary. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. Prev. John Caswell collection. Tags reads Manganspath
and Diallogite (translation, rhodochrosite). An attractive quartz lined vug
that measures 2.8 cm in length with medium pink tabular crystals that stand up
nicely in relief. There is no damage and the color contrast and form really
stands out on the clear quartz crystals. The entire specimen measures 5.4 x 3.3
x 3.5 cm. A very old and famous collection specimen with all the
documentation. $425
OKH-577 Hemimorphite Durango, Mexico. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. Beautiful transparent baby blue hemimorphite coats this 5.5 x 5 cm
plate that measures approximately 1.5 cm thick. It looks to be fully
crystallized on its backside but this is difficult to assess because it is glued
into a perky box. The later stage mineralization appears to be blooms of white
calcite. These minerals have very nice luster and are aesthetic. One calcite
bloom on the very edge of the piece is chipped, but that would be expected. A
very nice specimen. $75
OKH-578 Fluorite Luna County, New Mexico. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. These pale green, frosted crystals combined in and aesthetic
grouping measuring 3.5 x 3 x 3 cm. The crystals are gemmy internally, cubic in
form, and show minor dodecahedral modifications. Views well from all sides,
minor chip on back crystal, excellent condition.
OKH-579 Fluorite Cave-In-Rock, Illinois. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. Several interlocking cubes with the most dominant one measuring
2.2 cm on edge. An attractive light blue color with a beautiful purple phantom
inside. The cluster measures 3.7 x 3.7 x 1.6 so should be able to fit any
competition thumbnail case. The surfaces appear to have very low profile
overgrowths by texahexahedral forms. No damage. Views well from all sides.
Interesting and aesthetic. $235
OKH-580 Fluorite and Calcite Cave-In-Rock, Illinois. Ex. Paul and
Dawne Dunning Collection. Several interlocking cubes with the most dominant
one measuring 2.5 cm on edge. The color is a rich purple but internally the
cores are yellow. The surfaces appear to have very low profile overgrowths by
texahexahedral forms. Calcite search gemmy and beautifully formed in most cases
a deep rich yellow. The specimen is basically a floater with a couple minor
attachment points. Some Styrofoam still attached to back that would be easy to
remove. The overall dimensions of the specimen are 3.2 x 3 x 2.8 cm. This is a
highly aesthetic though small example. A desirable high luster interesting and
colorful specimen. $320
OKH-581 Fluorite Kirgizie, U.S.S.R. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. A good representative specimen from the old Soviet republic, this
specimen measures 6.2 x 3.7 x 3.5. The fluorite octahedrons composing it
measure up to .9 cm on edge. A central protrusion, almost stalactitic, as most
of the fluorites on it. The matrix is a micro-quartz. There is no damage, the
fluorites are a light green color, and they are very translucence. A nice
example. $70
OKH-582 Fluorite RESERVED
Kuiu Island, Alaska. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. This piece is composed of one large cube measuring 2.4 cm on edge
and several smaller partial cubes attached on the sides. This specimen is
gemmy, the surfaces have a nice luster, and there is no damage. This is a very
nice specimen for this unusual locality. It would be rare to find a specimen
from this Alaskan site of any size. The cube composing this piece is very
large. $320
OKH-583 Fluorite Weiseck, Lungau, Austria. Ex. Paul and Dawne
Dunning Collection. This is a nice specimen from a very unusual location. It
measures 9.5 x 4.2 x 3.4 cm and is composed of cubes to 1.5 cm on edge. It is a
mild green color and we’ve nice luster and good clarity to the cubes. There is
no damage and it displays nicely. $250
OKH-584 Fluorite Berbes, Auturias, Spain. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. This specimen is an attractive grouping of light purple clear
crystals measuring up to 1.5 cm on edge. It is viewable from all sides as good
luster and nice form to the cubes that compose it. Attractive phantoms can be
seen in if you of the cubes and most exhibits growth with no modifications.
There are a couple tiny chips that are not readily noticeable without close
inspection. This is a good quality piece from a very desirable location. $200
OKH-585 Barite on Fluorite
Cave-In-Rock, Illinois. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This
specimen is composed of large partial cube of a bright yellow color with a half
centimeter outer layer of light blue. This one measures nine and centimeters by
9 cm x 6 cm and is of nice luster. White barite coats two regions of the piece:
one is a thin coating of tiny crystals to 3 mm each along to edges and 2. It is
in the central regions of the cube, lower sections of the specimen, and is both
a thin coating and barite coating a larger single crystal of an earlier
generation of barite. There are attractive sulfide phantoms, as well.
Interesting fact centimeter wide concoidal growth feature on the display face.
A small area of the aerate overgrowth is missing. Fluorite and remainder of
barite are very is damage free. A real nice piece of some of the most desired
color fluorite in the United States. $270
OKH-586 Fluorite and Quartz Alban, France. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. In attractive light blue specimen which cubes to 1.4 cm on edge.
Entire specimen measures 4 x 3.9 x 3 cm. Small chip in one of the smaller
cubes. An uncommon European locality. $165
OKH-587 Fluorite and Barite Asturias, Spain. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning
Collection. This is a wonderful display piece measuring 6 x 4.7 x 4 cm and
composed of cubes to 1.5 cm on edge. The barites are in individual blades and
balls. Both species are a very good luster and translucence. There are also
secondary growth fluorites on the barites in a couple of spots. Displays well
from any angle. This is a very high quality piece however it is more common
material on today’s market. This is reflected in its price… $95
OKH-588 Fluorite on Barite Berbes, Asturias,
Spain. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This is an
extremely high quality miniature measuring 4.6 x 3 0.4 x 1.9 cm. There are
only a few cubes but they are of extremely high quality being water clear and up
to 1.5 cm each. This specimen is a floater with the only damage being to
two tiny barites on back of specimen that form is unusual and almost indescribable
piece.
Some of the fluorite surfaces have minor quartz overgrowths with tiny fluorites
on top of that. A fluorites are so clear that every tiny detail of the
underlying barites can be ascertained. The images fail to show how gemmy
the fluorites really are. I really like this
piece and can’t see how any serious fluorite collector would find it to be
anything other than exceptional. Minor blue mineral adhesive on base should be
removed. Stunning miniature! $575
OKH-589 Fluorite, Quartz and Chalcopyrite
RESERVED Siglo XX Mine, Naica,
Chihuahua Mexico. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. Another small but
absolutely stunning specimen. This piece exhibits watered clear brilliant blue
fluorites on white quartz. The piece measures 3.6 x 2.6 x 2.2 cm crystals to 1
cm in diameter. The specimen is a damage free floater in the crystals are cubes
modified by octahedrons. Both forms seem to be equally developed. Displays
well from all sides. A killer miniature. $450
OKH-590 Fluorite Mina Guadalupe, Durango Mexico. Ex. Paul and Dawne
Dunning Collection. This miniature measures 4.1 x 2.5 x 3.4 cm it exhibits
purple octahedrons to 1.7 cm on edge. They are well formed in high relief and
show nice contrast to the white matrix on which they rest. No damage. $50
OKH-591 Fluorite Friday Claim, Grant County, New Mexico. Ex. Paul and
Dawne Dunning Collection. This specimen has a single display face coated by
fluorite octahedron to 1.5 cm each on edge. It measures 5.9 x 4.7 x 4.3 cm
overall. These octahedrons show cubic overgrowths and interesting complex
terminations. Very dark color, purple, makes them appear almost opaque. Good
luster and damage free. $80
OKH-592 Fluorite, Barite and Calcite Lungau, Salzburg, Austria. Ex.
Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. This attractive medium luster specimen
displays cubes to 1.7 cm on edge. They range from water clear to slightly milky
in color. They are on a partial base of white barites in acicular sprays.
There is a light overgrowth of high luster micro calcites on approximately one
half of the specimen. This specimen is mineralized on all sides with only a
couple small areas on edge contact and a couple small cubes and minor damage
that is not distracting. High quality European specimen from an unusual
location. It’s total size is 6.1 x 4.4 x 3 cm. Displays will from all sides.
