Minerals from the Milpillas Mine, Mexico

The azurite and accessory minerals from this location are being discussed as being the finest found anywhere.  Although I believe them to be fine modern day classics, to say they are the finest may be a stretch.  In any case, they are exceptionally fine for azurite and will likely stand the test of time when it comes to being recognized as "important" mineral specimens. Getting examples of these for your collection is something better done sooner than later.

OKL-474    Azurite with Malachite    Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Mun. de Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico.  2013 Pocket.  Of all the material produced in this important find I believe this pocket has produced the finest quality of specimens discovered at Milpillas.  The luster and rich blue color is the finest known for azurite, only surpassed by the great material from Tsumeb and perhaps some of the finest Moroccan specimens.  I was able to hand pick the few I invested in this year at Tucson (2014) and was thrilled at their individual quality and the price.  These are among the nicest TN sized specimen I have offered in several years.  Without argument these will soon become modern day classics.  This thumbnail sized specimen measures 4.3 x 2.6 x 1.7 cm and has double terminated crystals to 2 cm each. There is damage but it is a nice example. $40
