OKG-073      Calcite with Quartz      Roncari Quarry, Tilcon Quarry), East Granby, Hartford, Connecticut.  Collected by Jerry Marchand.  This is a smaller example of the rare hematite phantomed calcites unique to this find.  The piece is 6.4 x 4 x 2.9 cm and has numerous calcite crystals showing silver and reddish brown hematite, selective face phantoms.  No damage tot he body of piece but the edges are rough and one end could use trimming.  $95

OKG-068      Quartz and Calcite on Stalactite      Roncari Quarry, Tilcon Quarry), East Granby, Hartford, Connecticut.  Collected by Jerry Marchand. This odd looking piece measures 7.5 x 4.8 x 4 cm is mainly a large stalactite with a healed end.  The only contact is on the base it sits on so it views beautifully from any direction.  Lots of tiny inclusions and surface hematite spots on the calcites while most of the quartz remained water clear.  $175

OKG-531      Calcite and Quartz     Roncari Quarry, Tilcon Quarry), East Granby, Hartford, Connecticut.  Collected by Jerry Marchand.  This pice is a set of large calcites on clear quartz and measures in at 7.1 x 5 x 3.6 cm.  There is no damage and the piece has excellent aesthetics.  The back (or base) is botryoidal casts after???  $100

OKP-420      Quartz, Calcite, Hematite      Roncari Quarry, Tilcon Quarry), East Granby, Hartford, Connecticut.  Collected by Jerry Marchand.  Tis attractive cluster of crystals is 6 x 4 x 2.3 cm.  The back/base, and edges are all healed surfaces.  No damage.  Tiny blades and balls of hematite as inclusions and on surfaces of the quartz and calcite.  This is an excellent representative specimen.  $60

OKP-473     Barite      Barbusi, Carbonia, Sardinia, Italy.  Ex. Bob Borofsky.  This is an uncommon piece with large tabular, transpaernt barites to 3.5 cm each.  The piece measures 7 x 4.4 x 4.4 cm.  There are several broken crystals on the back but the front and sides are nice with only one crystal near edge being cleaved.  Sits nicely for display.  A very nice example for the location.  $150

OKP-474      Fluorite and Calcite on Quartz    Emilio Mine, Caravia Mining Area, Asturias, Spain.  Ex. Bob Borofsky.  This specimen measures 12.1 x 7.5 x 4.8 cm with water clear cubes on clear quartz druse up to 1.7 cm on edge each.  It looks excellent but under magnification shows several small rubs.  Back has all the calcites which are nothing special, but the front view with the clear fluorites is spectacular.  Very high luster, excellent cubes, very nice!  $140

 

 

 

 

 

OKP-475

OKP-475    Sphalerite, Rhodochrosite, Quartz     Tupca, Yugoslavia.  Ex. Bob Borofsky.  This plate of large sphalerite crystals measures 8.7 x 6.2 x 3 cm.  The sphalerites are opaque with high lusters and very sharp form.  The rhodochrosite is in spheres of a low moderate luster and flesh color.  Several tiny clear quartz are accessories.  There are a couple natural fracture lines in the sphalerites but they are stable and not repairs. Damage-free and aesthetic.  $195

OKP-476     Quartz and Fluorite     Lambokeels Mine, Weardale, England.  Ex. Bob Borofsky.  This piece is a healed plate that measures 9 x 7 x 2.8 cm.  The front has lustrous clear to milky quartz crystals on pale green fluorites, as seen.  Minor cleaves on some of the fluorites along edges all appears healed so I'd consider this a damage free floater.  The backside is all white, "pokerchip" calcites.  A good European specimen for this price.   $95

OKP-477     Fluorite with Goethite and Quartz      Villabona Mines, Asturias, Spain.  Ex. Bob Borofsky.  This 4.1 x 2.6 x 2 cm piece is composed of attractive fluorites of good transparency and luster.  The back view and bottom have crusts of botryoidal goethite.  No damage.  Good views all around.  $45
