OKF-024

OKF-024    Apophyllite “Flowers” on Stilbite    India.  This is a wonderful specimen from the now famous "Well Discovery" which is composed of four flowers (two intergrown) which sit up high of a plate of stilbite.  The large piece measures 20 x 16 cm.  The groupings of apophyllites measure to 5 cm each.  They are fine green crystals which grade to clear at their terminations.  This is a spectacular, showy specimen which has no damage, even when inspected under magnification.  A top shelf piece which is very aesthetic  and now becoming difficult to get in large specimens.      $4,500

OKL-914      Barite Stalactites     Rock Island Road Cut, Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York, collected 2013.  This is another rare specimen with blue crystals of barite.  The coloration on this one is light, as they always are and nearly impossible to make out in the images.  Approximately one in fifty specimens from this pocket will have any blue in its makeup.  Of those most are damaged (remember this was a collapsed pocket so almost all the specimens recovered were damaged).   This piece is exceptionally large and well coated by white and blue barite plumes.  It measures 11.6 x 8 x 6.2 cm.  35 to 40% of the front of the specimen has crystals with a blue color.  Big crystal groupings to about an inch (2.6 cm) each.  The remainder of the crystals are a bright shiny white.  Sits beautifully on a calcite cleave.  A high quality, damage free specimen... one of two that I need to cull from my collection in order to pay for the purchase of other pieces from this find.  $1,500
