This locality was well known in the mid-1800s and later lost to history.  Rediscovered on 2015, it is again producing large, interesting calcites.  The specimens are often large, in rare cases reaching 30 pounds or more, often twinned, and usually they possess an attractive satin luster.  Sometimes they are transparent in areas or throughout and rarely they will have light tints of pink or purple coloration.  Barite, quartz, and dolomite crystals are found, rarely, as accessory minerals.
