FIGURED SPECIMEN

OKM-998      Quartz     Tizirine, Oudrzazate, Morocco.  Ex. Harold L. Dibble collection.  FIGURED SPECIMEN from the book, Quartz: An Introduction to Crystalline Quartz, page 84 By Harold Dibble.  A fine stalactite from an unusual locale.  This specimen measures 11.5 x 4.8 x 4 cm.  Very high luster (better than my images indicate), zero damage, sits on end (at an angle leaning forward, however), and displays great.  There is minor, lustrous calcite overgrowths near the terminations of stalactites.  The quartz looks light purple but is actually clear and the purple seems to be below the largest, final coating of crystals.  The crystals of quartz are included by goethite needles adding to the aesthetics of the specimen.  This specimen will include a custom engraved acrylic base.  A great looking specimen!  $950

OKL-576

OKL-576   Quartz with Goethite    Tichka Massif, High Atlas Mountains, Morocco.  This example is an aesthetic geode shaped piece totally filled with short, stocky Herkimer diamond like, single and double terminated crystals that are transparent and high in luster.  They are often included by sprays of acicular brown to tan colored goethite crystals with the goethite extending out of the quartz in many instances.  The effect of this mineral combination is pleasing and to a quartz collector this material is certainly desirable.  I have not seen much of this material available (only with one other dealer at Tucson this year, 2014) so I am assuming it remains uncommon. 11 x 9 x 6 cm overall and totally damage free.  $195

OKK-917

OKK-917     Cobalto Calcite        RESERVED     Agoudal Mine, Bou Azzer, Morocco.  These bright pink to purple calcites were one of the few things that we could say was relatively new at this year’s Tucson show.  They have been available in the past but never in quantities that the general collector would find “comfortable” for price or would lend themselves to the wholesale market.  This one is an impressive example measuring 4.1 x 4 x 3.2 cm.  It's damage free, slightly domical and very attractively colored.  A small but very fine example.  $85
