Close up

OKF-282    Quartz     Wawa, Ontario, Canada.  Ex Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection.  This is a wonderful quartz specimen with crystals measuring to 2.2 cm on edge.  The primary quartz is large and clear, and the secondary overgrowths are almost black due to their inclusion with an unknown mineral.  The inclusions can be seen a small balls and some of the primary quartz crystals.  Some faces of the quartz crystals are glassy smooth and of an extremely high luster file others are partially etched and low in luster.  The contrast makes for an extremely aesthetic specimen.  One tiny yellow ball of who knows what.  The piece measures 5.5 x 4.2 x 2.5 cm overall.   $85
