Herkimer Diamond Mineral Specimens
St. Johnsville Quarry, New York

St. Johnsville has a quarry managed by Hanson Aggregates. The Herks from this location are similar to others from the region. The Herkimer diamonds are well formed and often attached to matrix. Pyrite bars are a rare association with the Herks and scepters are also encountered here. The location is not open for collecting. Specimens are difficult to get. These fine pieces come from two private collections built during the late 1990s.
