Pencil Aquamarines

Normally I don't get overly excited about aquas from Pakistan but these unique terminations made my head turn when I saw them. At first I suspected they were fakes but after close inspection I realized they were just a very unusual form of termination. After consulting with two Pakistan mineral experts I found them to be an uncommon find which on rare occasion come from the Braudu Valley near Nyet (35 deg. 43' lat. by 75 deg. 31' Long.).
Each specimen is an even light blue typical of Pakistan aquas. All are 90 to 100% gem material even under the frosted pencil like termination. I have only seen aquas with this form of termination once and that was from Brazil many years ago. Never from Pakistan. They are also terminated on the base or in some cases regrown. All would be referred to as being double terminated.
I've included only one pic of most specimens because they are almost identical from any angle. All damage free and top shelf material. Truly remarkable specimens. Don't wait until you read about them in Min. Record to get yours. These are very new and I only have 11 specimens. This represents all the good ones the dealer had excluding one which we could not come together on for a price. Black square in photo = 1 cm.

OKD-288 Aquamarine “Pencil” Nyet, Braudu Valley, Balistan, Northern Area, Pakistan. Super rare form of termination which tapers down like the tip of a pencil. This is the largest of these crystals which I have ever seen at 11 cm in length mass = 16 grams). Bottom section is rough due to matrix contacts and has small black tourmaline inclusions. Mid section is all gem and top is fully formed on front half and truncated on backside by what may have been muscovite which is now gone. Within the termination are several interesting thin (about a millimeter) linear enhydos. These run vertically, parallel to the "C" axis. No damage to crystal and nice even blue color. Some might cut off the bottom inch of this piece but the inclusions are quite interesting, so I won’t. High quality piece at a fantastic price. 825$
