One side is richly coated with a layer of cream colored smithsonite crystals. One tiny yellow smithsonite can be seen sitting in the middle of the plate. An excellent specimen. $75

OKF-167 Dioptase Tsumeb, S.W. Africa. Ex. Nancy Collins collection. He gemmy 1 cm dioptase crystal sets within a calcite matrix and is impeccably formed, highly lustrous and gemmy with moderate internal inclusions. It sits up high off the matrix and is very displayable. Entire specimen measures 3 x 2 x 2.2 cm. There is minor Styrofoam to be removed from the base of the specimen. $95

OKF-168 Quartz and Albite Rt. #55 Road Cut, near Windsor, Quebec, Canada. Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection. Beautiful clear alpine quartz crystals here in combination with albite twins. The albites range from a light milky color to gem clear. This is material from the only documented Canadian alpine deposit. It was discovered during road excavation in 1986. This fine piece is a stalactite with quartz to 2.8 cm in albites to 1.6 cm each. A small chip on one quartz crystal terminations otherwise damage free. 6.5 x 4 by 3 cm. The specimen stands on end for display it is very aesthetic. $120

OKF-169 Hematite and Quartz Island of Seriphos, Greece. Ex. Dr. Steven Chamberlain collection. The small cabinet sized plate measures 6 x 5 cm and is approximately 2.5 cm thick. The rosettes of hematite are up to 1.8 cm each and spread out nicely on the green quartz matrix. The quartz is included by hedenburgite. A rare find in today's mineral market, especially in an undamaged displayable specimen such as this. $325

OKF-170 Pyrite Barger Quarry, Lexington, Virginia. Ex. Dr. Steven Chamberlain collection. A 2 cm pyrite of unusual morphology in shale. The primary form is an octahedron with a slight modification by a cube. The curves surfaces and opposing striations must involve some crystal form unfamiliar to me. The pyrite sits up high off the matrix and displays well. 5.3 x 4.5 x 3.3 cm over all. A smaller rider crystal on the backside is broken. And unusual and attractive piece. $95

The primary form is an octahedron with a slight modification by a cube. The curves surfaces and opposing striations must involve some crystal form unfamiliar to me. There is a small chip to the primary crystal but everything else is in good order 5.8 x 4 x 5.3 cm overall. Unusual, superior and displayable. $130

OKF-172 Quartz and Chamosite RESERVED Rt. #55 Road Cut, near Windsor, Quebec, Canada. Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection. Beautiful clear alpine quartz crystals here with minor chamosite inclusions. This is material from the only documented Canadian alpine deposit. It was discovered during road excavation in 1986. Four primary points comprise this specimen. They are attached at their baces and rise in almost parallel form diverging slightly toward their terminations. They are very clear and only one has an extremely tiny tip ding of approximately 1 mm. 6 x 5.2 x 3.8 cm. This piece is a great example from the locale and at a fine price. $70

This has a large primary crystal measuring 8.6 cm which is highly included by chamosite. This is material from the only documented Canadian alpine deposit. It was discovered during road excavation in 1986. This is an exceptional piece for the locale because almost all quartz here which has chamosite inclusions is very poorly formed. This one retains good crystal shape and is large. $80

OKF-175 Hematite Itabira, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection. This large stocking hematite appears cubic in form. It measures 2.5 cm on edge and its surface is highly fractured along one area between crystal faces. The surface appears flaked away. This region is all fully crystallized as is the rest of the specimen. This is a very stable stocky hematite crystal with the highest of luster and is simply bizarre form. A very desirable piece. $295

Very unusual pseudomorph from an East Coast location that I am unfamiliar with. The matrix is yellow quartz and the crystal measures 1.7 cm. The specimen is 3.4 x 2.8 x 2 cm. Very clean crystal considering the specimen was broken free from his quartz matrix. $130

This beautiful specimen measures 5.3 x 3.5 x 2.3 cm has a front face coated by beautifully formed doubly terminated mimetites to 1.2 cm each. The crystals are beautifully formed, damage free and of the high luster expected from this locale. They are on a dark matrix so they blend in somewhat, but they are still very displayable and showy. The specimen sits on edge and displays great. A fine piece. $350

OKF-182 Fluorite Rosiclare, Hardin County, Illinois. Ex. Nancy Collins collection. A floater cluster with part of one crystal missing. Cubes to 2.2 cm each with the largest having a small corner ding and a couple other chips. Even with this the specimen is in good condition overall and is a light purple color with very light purple phantoms. The piece measures 5.5 x 3.5 x 3 cm. A good value at $45

OKF-183 Vivianite Siglo, Llallaqua, Bolivia. Ex. Nancy Collins collection. This is a very old specimen (not the new material from the past decade). The crystal measures 5.1 x 1.8 x 1 cm and is transparent. The color is a light grayish blue and a crystal form is rather complex and composed of two crystals and tight parallel growth with the larger of the two having a slight twist. This is not damage as there is no internal stress fracturing there would be evident if it was. The surfaces are glassy smooth and there is no damage whatsoever. A very desirable old-timer. $270

These crystals have a unique and complex form and a stand on edge well-off the matrix. They are all damage free and attractive the entire piece measures 4.5 x 4 x 3.2 cm. An interesting and showy specimen unlike those produced in more modern times. $125

OKF-191 Calcite on Calcite Interior, South Dakota. Ex. Nancy Collins collection. A beautiful calcite on matrix measuring 10.2 x 5.8 x 5.2 cm. The first generation of calcites are large yellow rhombohedrons. This second-generation are clear to white nail head calcites in epitactic overgrowth. They climb up the sides of some of the first generation calcites, even capping some of the terminations. A beautiful display of crystals which is much better in person. $175
