OKI-387 Phenakite San Miguel di Piraciraba, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Ex John Sinkankas Collection, purchased in 1966. A rare offering from a famous collector. The individual crystals are up to 1.8 cm each and the cluster measures 5.5 x 5 x 4.2 cm. The grouping views beautifully form any side or the top. The bottom is a thin rind of massive phenakite. All the crystals, large or small, are double terminated, gemmy to translucent and have a clarity rare for the species. Many crystals are tipped on edge and stand up in high relief. The specimen is very desirable and there is only the smallest of “Wilbers” on a couple crystals. You can not see these with the eye and will have to spend some time with a loupe to find them. I consider this a damage free specimen. There are a couple tiny dirty spots but the specimen is really ready for display, as is. Original Sinkankas tag. A fine specimen by most any collector’s standards. 1,200$

OKI-382 Celestine and Strontianite Meckley Quarry, Mandata, Northumberland Co., PA. Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain Collection. I usually will not list these specimens because they are so common…but this one exceeds all previous standards I have witnessed for this locale. This miniature is a real looker! The photos should make clear that this is not the standard Meckley specimen. It measures 4.9 x 4.3 x 2.5 cm. The Celestine are gem and a nice blue color. The strontianite balls are bright white and created both a color and form contrast which is exceptional. Only damage is to one strontianite ball which is cleaved Very tiny and tough to make out). There are minor contacts but for the most part it views exceptionally well from various sides. 325$

OKI-391 Calcite and Pyrite Steele Mine, Black Rapids, Lyndhurst, Ontario, Canada. Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain Collection. Noted for its quartz specimens, this locality seldom produces noteworthy specimens of calcite. This one is one of the finest I have seen. 5/9 x 4.6 x 4 cm overall. Clear to translucent…. The specimens from here are almost always translucent to opaque and low in luster. This one has a high luster, nice internal phantoms from clay inclusiona and is a floater. There are a couple dings but they are not distracting and the condition is exceptional for Lyndhurst material. 50$
