The Democratic Republic of the Congo is most noted for malachite.  A steady flow of this material is available with many mineral dealers, including us.  The stalactitic forms are especially desirable.





OKJ-826      Dioptase      Congo, Africa.  Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning collection.  A small single crystal of good color and form measuring 1.3 x .8 x .8 cm.  No damage.  Mounted in a perky box.    $20

OKJ-403    Malachite Stalactites    Democratic Republic of the Congo (Zaire).   This specimen is a complete vug with stalactites to 5 cm each.  The piece measures 17.5 x 14 x 11 cm overall and has an opening 13 cm long and as deep.  Rich green color and nice sparkle to the specimen which is quite rare in this form.  One side is polished to show patterning.  The piece sits nicely for display.  Close-up photos are not true color and look bleached out.  A very impressive, damage free piece.  $675

Dr. Steve Chamberlain Collection, circ. 1996.  Approximately a half dozen parallel growth stalactites to 8 cm each.  Piece measures 9.5 x 3.1 x 1.7 cm overall.  Fine color, no damage and very aesthetic.  A nice price for such a fine example.  $170








OKH-408    Diamond        RESERVED      Zaire, Africa.  This 1 cm silver colored crystal (partial crystal) fluoresces a bright yellow under short wave UV light.  It is 3.97 carats in weight.  $100

OKH-553     Malachite Stalactite      Zaire, Congo.   A bright green pair of stalactites in parallel growth.  Well developed growth rings on both.  One has a micro crystalline surface texture while the remainder of the specimen is smooth and slightly lighter in color.  10.2 x 6.5 x 3.2 cm.  No damage.  Custom engraved acrylic base.  $295
