This locality is among the most famous on the east coast.  Millerite in robust sprays to five centimeters in diameter are know, but rare, and have made the location a classic.  Other species are found here but it is the golden millerites that are coveted by collectors.

OKO-641      Magnetite pseudomorphs after Hematite and Quartz     Sterling Mine, Jefferson County, New York.  Ex. Bill Metropolis.  This is an east coast classic that has become almost impossible to find for sale.  There are bright quartz crystals dispersed within the darker magnetite pseudos.  This is a large, robust specimen with a fantastic area of crystallization.  8.3 x 6.5 x 3.5 cm.  No damage.  This is a great price for this rarity.   $150
