Tucson 2013 Specimens

OKK-922

OKK-922     Cobalto Calcite     Agoudal Mine, Bou Azzer, Morocco.  These bright pink to purple calcites were one of the few things that we could say was relatively new at this year’s Tucson show.  They have been available in the past but never in quantities that the general collector would find “comfortable” for price or would lend themselves to the wholesale market.  This one is an impressive example measuring 4 x 3.3 x 2 cm.  It's damage free, slightly domical and very attractively colored.  A small but very fine example.  $65

OKK-519

OKK-519     Cobalto Calcite     Agoudal Mine, Bou Azzer, Morocco.  These bright pink to purple calcites were one of the few things that we could say was relatively new at this year’s Tucson show.  They have been available in the past but never in quantities that the general collector would find “comfortable” for price or would lend themselves to the wholesale market.  This one is an impressive example measuring 4.9 x 4.8 x 2.8 cm.  It is a deep pink, almost purple color which seems to be more desirable (for reasons beyond my understanding).  The crystals are very large, attractive and damage free.  If you want a smaller example of very high quality this could be the one.   $200
