Iowa Mineral Specimens For Sale





OKP-784     Gypsum        Des Moines, Iowa.  Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection.  This is an ld specimen, previously in the Ralph Lapham collection that measures 7.5 x 2.7 x 1.3 cm.  It is transparent and has an interesting, doubly-terminated form.  Two tiny scuffs on front and more contact on back with the overall condition being very good.  $45







OKN-181     Barite    Linwood Mine, Buffalo, Scott County, Iowa.  Gemmy, double terminated with a double terminated rider crystal.  The piece measures 7.3 x 1.7 x 2.5 cm.  Floater with a shard of matrix.  No damage.  A couple tiny calcites to boot!  Very nice for one of these barites.  $60









OKL-572     Calcite cast after Calcite?     Linwood Mine, Buffalo, Scott County, Iowa.  I have not seen an example of this material which was an obvious cast.  The crystals are up to 2.6 cm each and the entire plate is damage free showing only minor edge contacts in a few places.  Attractive and different that this material usually appears.  13.5 x 12.5 x 3.3 cm.  Nice luster and exce3llent crystal form and coverage.  A value.   $45








OKK-558    Calcite     Linwood Mine, Buffalo, Scott County, Iowa.  #.1 x 3 x 2.2 pair of crystals on very minor dolostone matrix.  Exceptional quality being totally clean and viewable from all sides and having better than normal clarity.  Some faces very slightly frosted while most are glassy.  This is the nicest TN sized example of this material that I have ever handled.  Perfect example!  $130








OKK-805     Calcite     Linwood, Iowa.  Attractive, water clear calcite rhombs on limestone with crystals to 2.1 cm each.  The crystals stand up high off rock and the piece sits on edge beautifully for display.  A couple tiny scuffs which are not an issue for most.  Mineralized on all sides so the piece displays well from any direction.  9 x 6.2 x 4 cm.  Nice.  $45








OKK-806     Calcite     Linwood, Iowa.  A domical piece with no damage and crystals to 2 cm each.  These are clear with light gray phantoms.  Measures 7 x 6.1 x 5.9 cm.  Excellent example for only $30

OKA-995 Quartz Geode Iowa. Big 15 x 12 cm geode that is filled by clear/ milky quartz crystals. Broken open vs being sawed open. Stacks of druze with individual crystal being about .5 cm. Displays upright very nicely. 18$
