Hyatt Mine, Talcville, New York Specimens For Sale

These are examples of Sphalerite on Calcite

Although this mine has been closed for some time, the fine minerals that were recovered there are well known.  Best known are the sphalerite crystals on calcite.  The find was very limited but examples of this material surface on occasion.  They are of such high quality that they hardly look like sphalerites!  Gemmy, bright yellow, often twinned, and often on contrasting white calcite, they make for magnificent mineral specimens.
