Chinese Hemimorphite Specimens
Hemimorphite from China has been know for approximately ten years and has been very popular. Its color ranges from a light sea foam blue to a slightly darker blue. Larger specimens have become uncommon and relatively expensive. Smaller specimens can still be found and are often quite reasonable in price.

OKF-220 Hemimorphite from a small unnamed prospect, Malipo, Wenshan, Yunnan Prov., China. Ex Michael Walter collection. This large plate of hemimorphite is well mineralized on both sides. There is some minor staining and very minor scuff marks but overall this is a superior specimen which had been in my Chinese suite for many years. It measures 12.1 x 9 cm and averages approximately 3 cm thick. This piece is far better than most of the material that has come from this find over the years. $390

OKE-229 Hemimorphite From small unnamed prospect, Wenshan, Yunnan Prov., China. 11.9 x 4.7 x 7 cm plate of beautiful blue (darker than usual and a bit lower in luster than usual) hemimorphite. The specimen is a thin, sheet like dome which is well mineralized on both faces. Several scuffs on one side are distracting while other side is nice with a couple very, very tiny rubs.
