Tremolite Mineral Specimens from Seven Springs, Parishville, New York

Gemmy tremolite crystals from Parishville, New York make for unusual mineral specimens.       

Another closed New York State mineral collection location with historic significance.  This specimens from this site are often listed simply as Parishville, NY.  Specimens have greater clarity than the photos indicate. 

Labels reflect reflect old knowledge which assumed these crystals to be actinolite.  Chemical analysis shows the specimens to be tremolites.

OKB-651   Tremolite    Parishville, NY  Older label is present and mis-labeled as Colton, NY.  Excellent plate of translucent to clear crystals on matrix of tremolite.  Well terminated crystals to 1.7 cm each comprise this piece which is 7 cm overall.  25$
